About Denise and Rosa

We are two creative marketing professionals who got together to write this blog because we share a passion for creativity, advertising and the Hispanic market and would like to share information about these topics. We hope you enjoy our posts and welcome your comments.

Denise Santana

Denise received a Bachelor’s degree in Public Communication from the University of Puerto Rico and a Master’s degree in Mass Communications from the University of Florida. With over 15 years of experience, Denise has strong conceptual, writing and translation skills in Spanish and English, and her work includes advertising copy for print, radio and TV, press releases, direct mail, promotions and the Internet.

In Puerto Rico, Denise wrote for several direct marketing/promotions, advertising and public relations agencies, including Comstat-Rowland, Lintas and Wunderman. In 2000 she joined Capital One Financial as an English/Spanish copywriter and translator for the company's Hispanic Line of Business. She wrote and translated English/Spanish copy for the company's credit card, auto loan, account management and other Hispanic initiatives until 2005, when she started writing English-only copy for the general market. In 2007, after leaving Capital One due to a family relocation to Florida, Denise began to work as a freelance copywriter, translator and interpreter. She enjoys working with agencies, companies and organizations and consistently produces work that is effective, on-time and on-target.

Rosa Fierro

Rosa’s involvement with different areas of design started early on. Her love of design prompted her to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design with a major in Communications at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. Before graduating, she begun working as a freelancer in different industries. After graduating, she worked for companies and agencies in the editorial area, designing book covers and magazines. In 1995 she formally opened her own studio, Metamorpha Design, and worked for clients like EMI Music México, Sony Music México, Pfizer and several others.

Rosa immigrated to the US in 2000, after receiving an offer to work for Capital One Financial Services with the Hispanic Line of Business. As an Art Director, she designed English-only and Bilingual direct mail communications for credit card and auto loan, customer acquisition and account management. She also collaborated in different initiatives for the Hispanic market. In 2004, she started working for other lines of business like Young Adults and Sub-prime until 2006. While at Capital One, Rosa attended several Direct Marketing seminars. The experience of working for a company with a strong emphasis on direct mail, gave her a broad understanding of direct mail strategies and tactics. Being a Hispanic, Rosa understands the cultural differences between Latin American countries and is passionate about reaching Hispanics with messages that resonate with their culture and preferences.
